Your Long Island Breast Reduction Procedure

Breast Reduction
Before & After Photos

At our plastic surgery center on Long Island, breast reduction surgery is performed under general anesthesia (given by our board certified MD Anesthesiologist) as an outpatient surgery. The surgery generally takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours. If insurance covers your surgery, it will likely be performed at Huntington Hospital's newly completed surgical pavilion, also as an outpatient.

To request your free surgical consultation, just click, or call the office of board certified plastic surgeon Dr. James Romanelli now at (631) 424-3600.

Your individual circumstances will determine how Dr. Romanelli will approach your breast enhancement, and your unique procedure will be discussed in detail during your initial consultation. Usually, Dr. Romanelli will begin with an anchor incision around the areola down to the base of the breast and along the lower breast crease. Some patients may be candidates for a Vertical Breast Reduction, which have a lollipop-shaped incision.

In rare cases (massive breast hypertrophy), breast reduction may be best performed by removing the nipple and areola from their attachment to the breast tissue and then placing them, as grafts, higher on the breast. This option is rarely needed, and always agreed upon prior to surgery.

Whatever incisions are needed, the nipple and areola will be repositioned as part of your new breast shape and size. Excess skin, fat and breast tissue will be removed and the breast will be contoured and shaped for healthier, more proportional breasts.

You owe it to yourself to find out about your breast reduction options and to share your goals with Dr. Romanelli of Romanelli Cosmetic Surgery, located in Huntington, New York. Call (631) 424-3600 today or click here to request your free surgical consultation.
