Dr. James Romanelli | Romanelli Cosmetic Surgery
I'm Dr. Jim Romanelli, a board certified plastic surgeon practicing in Huntington, New York. Plastic surgery allows me the honor of helping my patients unveil their natural beauty. It allows people the opportunity to align the way they look with the way they feel.
I'm from Long Island, I grew up here. Went to school here. Went away for training. And when I decided that I needed to practice somewhere, coming home was the right answer.
At the University of Notre Dame, I had a real broad education. Science, yes, but also literature, sculpture, art, philosophy. It was a wonderful preparation to become a plastic surgeon.
I attended medical school after college and that four years was a great clinical experience. Following that, I did surgical training and general surgery for five years and then three years of training which completed my plastic surgery experience.
In Houston, I trained first in hand surgery and then in plastic and reconstructive surgery. That was at the Baylor College of Medicine which is a phenomenal, nationally recognized program.
Since entering private practice in 1990, I have cared for thousands of patients. In addition to earning my board certification in plastic surgery, I have become a physician leader. At Huntington Hospital, I served as chief of surgery from 2000 until 2012. In 2012, I became the chief of staff. My goal for Huntington Hospital and its patients is the same as my goal for my patients, that they should receive exceptional care.
At the end of the day, you have to be able to connect with your surgeon. I'm passionate about people. I'm really motivated to help them achieve their goals. The success of plastic surgery is for you to be happy, that's what we're about. To be part of that journey is a great thing for me.
